Shadow Conspiracy BMX History

Who owns Shadow Conspiracy?

Shadow Conspiracy was started by Ron Bonner owner of Sparkys Distribution in Orlando, Florida back in 2002.

Ron had already worked in the BMX industry for many years developing the UGP (Underground Products) clothing brand, distributing brands through Sparkys and organising the infamous Roots Jams.

Who rides for Shadow Conspiracy?

The Shadow Conspiracy BMX or Shadow (as it's more commonly abbreviated) launched with five key team riders, Byron Anderson, John Jennings, Ryan Sher, Joe Simon and Alistair Whitton. Today Shadow sponsors BMX riders from all around the world including Simone Barracco, Trey Jones, Joris Coulomb, Matt Ray and Alex “Big Boy” Whistance to name a few. Shadow has produced three full length BMX DVD’s, The Calling (2005), Into the Void (2008) and the most recent What Could Go Wrong (2015). The success of these DVD’s along with a global team of BMX riders, high quality BMX products and a network of BMX stores around the world have helped ensure that Shadow is one of the best BMX brands today.

What products do Shadow Conspiracy make?

In 2004 Shadow released a key product that would go on to change the way people thought of BMX chains forever. That product was the Shadow Interlock chain and consisted of a series of ‘half links’ joined together to make a complete BMX chain. The original idea and design was conceived by Shadow team rider Byron Anderson. Although this chain was more expensive than conventional chains it quickly gained a loyal customer fan base due to its increased strength and durability. The 1/8" Interlock chain is still one of most popular chains in BMX freestyle and has been copied by almost every BMX brand today. Today Shadow makes an extensive range of innovative BMX parts including BMX Wheels, BMX cranks, BMX pedals, BMX tyres and much more. Alongside the extensive collection of Shadow BMX parts Shadow also make a comprehensive range of helmets and pads under the brand name “Shadow Riding Gear” this includes regular and In-mold helmets, elbow pads, knee pads, shin pads and wrist guards.
